excalibur nesting router

This CNC unit is what we call our "Queen", our best-seller. This vacuum-bed machine comes with or without a 4-th axis (rotary). The 4th axis has a maximum torque of 700 Nm and drives a 160mm chuck with a throat of 40mm. This can be used for cutting anything from spirals to gun-stocks etc. We embedded aluminum T-slots as a bonus!

This unit is ideal for machining aluminium profiles, PVC and even mild steel (with the correct cutters). Vertical automatic safety door (black & yellow) provides protection for the operator during operation.

stonemaster

Made for cutting/carving/engraving Stone (marble/granite). This CNC unit cuts kitchen tops, bathroom counters, furniture, headstones; or simply creating beautiful things out of stone. We use a special Hiteco spindle that feeds water through the cutter (which keeps the cutter cool for longer tool life). This unit can be a 3 or 4 axis machine, the fourth axis can be used to rotate an aggregate head so that the operator can use a saw-blade to cut at any angle.

Assegai (Knife Machine)

High speed cutting of materials such as leather, foams, rubber, vinyl, cloth. This machine uses a carbide blade that moves up and down to cut the material. It can cut square corners as well as curves. The blade rotates while the knife is cutting so that the sharp edge is always leading the knife into the material. No material is removed in the process, the material is just parted. It uses the Vacuum Table to hold non- Porous Materials in place while it cuts. To prevent damage to the blade and the table a sacrificial felt/foam sits between the table and the material being cut. This material would under heavy production would need to be replaced every 1000 hours of cutting.

Enclosed Router (vacuum/clean room)

High speed cutting of materials such as Graphite, Composites, Fiber Glass, Carbon Fiber, Aluminium, Non-Ferrous metals, Plastics, Bone. This unit is enclosed and has a internal negative pressure to prevent dust from escaping while the machine is operating. The vacuum is supplied by an external vacuum generator and filter. IP 67 stainless steel keyboard and resistive touch screen mounted in mobile pedestal. Masso Operating system making the machine powerful as well as user friendly. Will run G-Code from all major CAM software vendors. See website for details. The table is cast Iron or similar T-Slot bed for mounting the material. Hiteco ATC tool changer capable of 24 000 RPM. Eight tool magazine Fully enclosed linear bearings and ball screws for all axises. Electrically operated front and rear vertical doors (must be closed to prevent dust from leaving the enclosure.)

UNIGRIP

Precise and high speed cutting to length of materials such as Aluminium, wood, Non-Ferrous metals, PVC, Vesconite. This machine uses a carbide tipped blade that moves vertically to cut the material. The material is clamped on both sides of the blade and at the rear mounting. The material is indexed using a servo motor and the position is moved relative to the absolute position of the machine, obviating any accumulative error. Registration can be achieved by a sensor picking up a hole or edge in the material and cutting a fixed distance after detection. A drilling head can also be added to drill holes in the material while the machine is cutting.

Umkhombe Multipart Machining Center

Unicam’s answer to a full, in-house production environment. This machine can make all your small parts such as hinges, brackets, clamps, lugs. The aluminium extrusion is inserted into the machine, and setup to be flush with the chuck. Press the start button and all your parts are automatically manufactured for you.

mill upgrade

Our system is designed using AC Servo drives drive the Ball/Lead screws that articulate your milling machine. The system is usually 3 axis but can go up to 5 axis. We have two options: 1. Masso - you can only operate the machine by using a pendant and active DRO’s or to operate from G-Code, or from our wizards. This system is better for most applications, but you cannot operate the machine using the original handles supplied with the machine. The machine needs to be homed when you turn it on. 2. AX8 – Using absolute encoders, allows you to operate the machine by hand with active DRO’s or to operate from G-Code. This system allows you to disable the servo system and use the machine as you did before the upgrade. The machine never needs to be homed, as the positions of the axis’s are stored in memory.
